DEADLIEST GORKHAS  – India’s most fearless Regiment.

Hello, defence lovers,

After so long time I’m writing this article. Last article I wrote about PARA COMMANDOS.

And again we read out this the soldier’s story. You guys are my inspiration to write about the defence Article. I loved to study on this Indian army’s and know about more and then wrote about it and share it. I feel very proud to write.

So lets starts,

ENEMIES BE AWARE! HERE COMES THE FEARLESS GORKHA.

We all heard that,

“If a man says he’s not afraid of dying,
He’s either lying or he’s GORKHA”.
– sam manekshaw.

Indian army’s first field marshal, aptly describes what it means to be a GORKHA. Indian army Gorkhas are meant to be fearless and as any military personnel worth his salt would know, they are also the most worthy warriors of the Indian army.

Since the freedom of India in 1947, according to the details of the Britain–India–Nepal Tripartite Agreement, six Gorkha regiments, once in the past aspect of the British Indian Army, turned out to be important for the Indian Army and have served from that point onward. The soldiers are for the most part from the ethnic Gorkha people group of Nepal. They have a background marked by fortitude in the fight, clear from the courage grants won by Gorkha warriors, and fight praises granted to Gorkha both when joining the Indian Army. They convey their signature, a Kukri blade with them. A seventh Gorkha Rifles regiment was re-bought up in the Indian Army after Independence to oblige Gorkha fighters of the seventh Gurkha Rifles and the tenth Gurkha Rifles who decided not to move to the British Army.

Post-independence

Following India’s independence, India, Nepal and Great Britain signed a Tripartite Agreement, and of the total of 10 Gorkha regiments in the British Indian Army, six joined the Indian Army:

1st King George V’s Own Gurkha Rifles (The Malaun Regiment)
3rd Queen Alexandra’s Own Gurkha Rifles
4th Prince of Wales’s Own Gurkha Rifles
5th Royal Gurkha Rifles (Frontier Force)
8th Gurkha Rifles
9th Gurkha Rifles

I salute this Army with all my heart who are there for us in every difficult situation.
